It seems this program is currently Windows 10 only since the executable requires SetProcessDpiAwarenessContext, which is (according to MSDN) only available for Windows 10 (or Server 2016).
Is this intentional?
I'm only asking since I don't see this mentioned on your page.

Hi, yes I believe the issues are related. I have never put anything on the itch page because I have not tried it on a windows 7 device before so I didn't want to assume anything.
If you join the discord I can send you a version without those calls to see if it works however I would be surprised if there wasn't something else in my program that also doesn't work with windows 7.
After running cat companion, there's a weird white window blocking 1/4 of my screen. So, I held ESC and it disappears, but the same thing happens again when I run the application.
hi, so i don't know if this exactly has something to do with your application or not but when i opened the application it had made my screen go red. it was only when i force shut down the application in task manager did that fix the problem. i love this application by the way <3 its super cute but i really hope you can fix some of the small bugs that come with it.
That is a strange bug. If you join the discord server I would be interested to see exactly what it does and if I have any ideas I will send you a test version to try get it fixed.
Buenas, tengo un problema y es que solo me aparece un rectángulo blanco en la parte superior derecha de la pantalla, y no aparece ningún gato, ya le di varias veces al F3 pero no sucede nada, les agradecería mucho si me ayudan, muchas gracias :).

I have the same problem, but I found out you can also see things when you right click. It goes back to black as soon as I do anything else though
